Cox Cattle
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Frequently asked questions
General1
Our beef is proudly grass‑fed and grain‑finished, delivering the rich flavor and tenderness our customers love. Our cattle are never confined to a feedlot—they enjoy access to quality pasture year‑round, allowing them to grow naturally and stress‑free.
To enhance marbling and ensure exceptional taste, our cattle receive a locally formulated soyhull and cracked‑corn ration, mixed by a trusted Alabama feed mill. Each animal is finished for a minimum of 90 days, resulting in the consistently tender, flavorful beef our customers have come to expect.
Taste the difference that responsible care, quality feed, and local stewardship can make.
We offer quarter, half, and whole bulk buying options for our farm‑fresh beef, giving customers the flexibility to stock their freezer with high‑quality, locally raised meat.
For those who don’t need large quantities, we also occasionally offer Beef Boxes—a convenient option for enjoying our premium beef without committing to bulk storage. These boxes include a curated mix of cuts and are tier‑priced based on the specific selections included.
Experience the convenience, value, and exceptional flavor of beef raised right here on our farm.
Our current bulk beef pricing is $5.75 per pound of hot hanging weight for quarters and $5.50 per pound of hot hanging weight for halves and wholes. This weight is provided directly by our processor after the animal has been cleaned and all inedible parts have been removed.
On average, a half beef totals around $2,000, though final pricing will vary depending on the individual animal. Processing and hauling are included in our price, giving you a simple, all‑inclusive cost with no surprises.
For customers looking for smaller quantities, our Beef Boxes are available periodically and range from $200 to $300, depending on the cuts included.
Customized Cuts, Personalized Experience
When you purchase a half or whole beef, your cut sheet is created specifically for you. This allows you to tailor your order to your family’s preferences—whether you want thicker steaks, more roasts, specialty cuts, or anything in between.
For quarter beef purchases, cuts follow our standard cut sheet, based on how we process our own personal beef. This ensures a well‑balanced variety of steaks, roasts, and ground beef.
Ryan or Cason will guide you through the process as much or as little as you need, making the entire experience smooth and stress‑free.
